Voice Studio
Kayleen Seidl is a New York based actress, voice teacher, and musical theatre audition coach. Singing has always been a source of joy in Kayleen’s life, which is why she decided to make it her life’s work. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from St. Olaf College where she graduated with Distinction. She is also an alum of Seagle Music Colony. Kayleen’s collegiate classical vocal training combined with over a decade of professional musical theatre experience has given her a firsthand understanding of how to successfully cross-train the voice in a variety of styles.
Kayleen also has a passion for training dancers in the art of singing and is uniquely equipped to do so thanks to her many years of dance training. When working with dancers, Kayleen is able to use skills and vocabulary associated with the art of dance to help her students find greater ease and confidence in their vocal production. This work with her private voice students led to her starting VocalMotion - the practice of integrating singing and dancing so that both skills can be done simultaneously in a healthy and efficient manner.
Kayleen enjoys bringing her joy and love of singing to students of all ages and levels. Whether you are completely new to singing or a seasoned professional looking to hone your skills for auditions and performances, Kayleen would love to be a part of your vocal journey.
“Kayleen brings an expertise and positive approach to the craft of singing. In a short time, she has brought me to a level of quality and confidence in my voice, vocal technique, and repertoire. If you are a singer, actor or dancer who strives to be a multi-threat performer, I highly recommend this seasoned pro! ”
TESTIMONIALS
“Working with Kayleen has been amazing! While I’ve had several voice teachers with different backgrounds and styles of teaching, Kayleen’s is simple, straightforward, and very knowledgeable. I genuinely enjoy doing our vocal technique exercises and warmups — staples I used to only view as a necessary evil. Her work with consonants just clicks for me and is helping me overcome many years of defeat searching for different ways to access certain parts of my voice. As a professional and someone who just really loves singing, our work has brought me much hope and joy. And all of this virtually, over Zoom! I cannot recommend her enough!”
“Kayleen was an answer to my prayers. I wanted to get a voice coach for my senior play, so we started voice lessons last year. She was incredibly helpful, and I even ended up getting compliments on my solo. Kayleen is very personable, flexible, and incredibly uplifting! ”
“I’m so glad I stumbled upon Kayleen. I am not a natural born singer and learned to sing as an adult. I was timid again to find a new teacher when I found Kayleen and gave it a whirl. After several years of not singing, Kayleen was able to meet me exactly where I was and has guided me so brilliantly over the last few months. I love working with Kayleen and will continue to do so. If you are looking for a voice teacher, I highly recommend Kayleen.”
“Kayleen Seidl is the definition of an amazing vocal instructor. She is so talented, knowledgeable, patient, and caring. She works with her students helping them to improve vocally and grow as individuals. The encouragement she gives is remarkable. Watching my 8 year old granddaughter when she is working with Kayleen is priceless. We live in Southern Oklahoma and wouldn’t use anyone else. I would recommend her 1000%.”
“Kayleen immediately puts me at ease and gives me the confidence to push myself a little further with each lesson. I have acted in community theater, but never had the guts to audition for a musical. I do now, thanks wholly to Kayleen and my work with her! And I am 61! Proof positive it is never too late! I would highly recommend Kayleen for voice lessons!”
“I think Kayleen is the best! She’s funny, kind and caring. And I like how we learn new words. I even learned the word staccato! It means to sing with a little bit of a bumpy voice. I love staccato! ”
